'Viy: Spirit of Evil' is Maddeningly Incoherent

'Viy: Spirit of Evil' lost a lot of its identity on the way to the screen. At one point, this was probably a loving tribute to Gogol and the strangeness of his stories. But as the movie spent years working within the financial machine, it just started becoming something else.

'Kristy' Falls Apart in the Details

'Kristy' has the makings of a tight little horror picture, but the script ultimately fails to just put it together.

'The Best of Me' is a Movie You’ve Seen Before

'Fury' is Brutal, but Thin

'Fury' is still a pretty captivating movie at points. If nothing else, the movie gives us one of the best depictions of a tank battle ever committed to screen. That alone might make it worth it.

'Dilim' Isn't a Horror Story at All

It all feels hastily assembled, a project just thrown together just so there could be something sold as a horror movie sometime around Halloween. That’s just not the way to do it.

'The Pirates' Steals an Identity

'The Pirates' does offer the occasional bit of fun when it isn’t trying to be something else. But that rarely happens.
